Why did I take a career quiz?
Leaving my job and paycheck behind to find the right career was definitely scary. I had felt “stuck” in my career for years, so this was a chance to start fresh. I wanted to find a new career path that would be a great match for my personality and skills, help me feel fulfilled and challenged, and match my preferences around income and location.
So, I looked into technology-based career quizzes and I was pretty amazed with that I found. Today, many of these quizzes use advanced AI and can recommend careers and jobs that are a perfect match for your personality, skills, and preferences. It helped me so much, and I hope this helps you!

The overall top pick for best career quiz is Apt due to its intuitive interface, shockingly-accurate personality results, and spot-on career recommendations. Apt is powered by AI and 100 billion+ data points, so I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised when it gave me the most accurate recommendations of any of the career tests I tried, plus personality test results across the five major science-backed tests (e.g., Myers-Briggs, Big Five, Enneagram, DiSC, Holland Code) with one quick test that only took 10 minutes or so.
I also loved Apt’s Personalized AI Career Coach. After giving me my career recommendations (based on my quiz results), the coach answered my questions, prepped me for job interviews, and recommended job openings in my desired fields. Because it’s powered by AI, it’s super interactive and I can ask it anything I want 24/7. It felt like talking to an expert who was also a mentor and friendly. This definitely feels like the future and I was pretty amazed.

Overall Rating
While I enjoyed the design, aesthetic, and fun visuals on ASA Futurescapes, unfortunately the career recommendations were inaccurate for me. The quiz followed a unique format: a choose-your-own-adventure story involving extraterrestrial objects and the recommendations were fun to explore, as each was represented by a planet. Ultimately, though, the quiz was too short (and the questions too “out there”) to really provide any insight into realistic career options, and I didn’t really trust the results I received.

Overall Rating
Unlike the other products I tested, Brain Manager offered a range of quizzes on a variety of subjects, with everything from a “depression test” to a “burnout test.” Most of the tests are available only in the “premium” version, but a simple, 42-question career test is available for free. I liked that the test was quick and easy (all yes-or-no questions), but the lack of depth made for highly simplistic results for me–with just a few sentences on the types of career one might be interested in, without further explanation or specific career recommendations.
